Today, Dynex designs and manufactures a full range of automated workstations, laboratory instruments, and associated consumables that enable scientists and clinicians to make breakthrough discoveries, earlier, more-accurate diagnoses – innovations to improve health outcomes and enhance life. Dynex also offers custom design and engineering services. The experts behind the celebrated DSX™ and DS2® automated ELISA systems can develop custom components, or a complete automated system tailoredfor the specific application, and partner with the kit manufacturer to take the resulting product from initial concept through successful commercial launch.

Headquartered just outside of Washington, D.C. in Chantilly, Virginia, Dynex employs a talented, multidisciplinary staff of approximately 50 people worldwide. These include design and service engineers, applications scientists, marketing specialists, and precision-manufacturing experts. Many hold advanced scientific or engineering degrees. Employees work cross-functionally to provide quick response to customers and to solve complex product-development and technical-support problems.

Ownership and financial information

In October 2004, Dynex became a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellan Biosciences, Inc. A privately held company, Magellan Biosciences is majority-owned by Ampersand Ventures; Boston Community Venture Fund is also an investor. As such, we do not release our company financials.
