Spectra MR™ – Simplifies absorbance measurements and delivers performance for the value-driven laboratory that meets the challenges of today and tomorrow's microplate photometric applications
The most stable and accurate absorbance detection in a convenient, compact instrument, the Spectra MR scanning microplate spectrophotometer serves interchangeably as a spectrophotometer and a microplate reader, delivering precision and accuracy without compromise. Spectra MR accepts all microplate formats from six to 384 wells and provides accurate results quickly and precisely with zero drift and excellent baseline performance. Wavelength selection from 200 nm to 1,000 nm in 1 nm increments is simple and effortless; with the scanning monochromator there is no need to change fixed filters. Spectra MR detects the absorbances of DNA, RNA, and proteins without requiring further modification of samples to obtain correct results. The analyzer’s high (2 nm) optical resolution delivers accurate absorbance measurements critical to discriminating the 260 nm narrow peaks of DNA. Spectra MR maintains critical enzyme protocol conditions between ambient and 45? C in the temperature-controlled reading chamber.
The easy-to-use Revelation Software platform is a well-established tool for obtaining data, calculating, and interpreting absorbance results. Features include easy creation of assay protocols, quick buttons for immediate scans, and direct data export – the best combination of features and value available. A is available.
Key Spectra MR features include:
- Scanning monochromator with wavelength range 200 nm to 1,000 nm, selectable in 1 nm increments
- Zero drift, affords the most stable platform
- Excellent baseline performance (can obtain 0.000 A), affords better S:N ratio at lower absorbances (< 0.005 A)
- Endpoint, kinetic and scanning reading modes
- Reads a large range of plate types: six-well to 384-well plates
- “Universal Equation” (e.g. A260/A280; estimate nucleic acid, protein, or antibody concentration using an extinction coefficient)
- Path-length correction normalizes absorbances to a 1 cm path length and extends dynamic range (e.g. 50 µl can be measured and corrected to a 1 cm path length to improve sensitivity; flexible ratio measurement and corrected 1 cm path length support the measurements often performed with a dedicated UV/Vis spectrophotometer: ssDNA concentration, ds DNA concentration, RNA concentration via absorbtivity factors/extinction coefficient)
- Extensive Revelation Software features: instrument control, data reduction, and scanning capabilities offer unique assay design flexibility and powerful data reduction capabilities
- Self-diagnostic and self-calibrating
The Spectra MR is the instrument of choice for a variety of critical applications, including: UV/Visible absorbance & photometry Spectrum scanning Nucleic acid analysis RNA Concentration (A260) ssDNA concentration (A260) dsDNA concentration (A260) DNA purity assessment (A260/A280) Turbidimetric detection Cell proliferation Cytotoxicity Protein analysis Biuret protein determination Bradford protein determination BCA protein determination Endpoint calibration curve protein assays Colorimetric assays ELISA / EIA Immunoassays Kinetic ELISA / EIA b-galactosidase activity NAD(P)H-based assay Nitric oxide determination
